RescueGroups.org provides free and low-cost technology services (like rescue and shelter data management, websites, voice mail, domains and email services) to the animal welfare community. We also provide free access to our database of adoptable pets to like-minded developers and webmasters via our API and iFrame services.
Integrating an adoptable pet data API isn't just about numbers. It's about the quality, support, flexibility and functionality of the API. RescueGroups.org has release a SOAP API for public use that will grow into a platform API for the animal welfare community. RescueGroups.org provides the only community supported, non-profit API. Join our API mailing list by contacting us. Read more on the SOAP API blog post.
RescueGroups.org is now providing grants for most of our services, thanks to the commitment by DogTime. Nearly 100 organizations have already received a grant directly from DogTime or through the RescueGroups.org grant program, and you can see a full list on the Grant Recipients page. You can read more about the grants on the DogTime Grants page.
RescueGroups.org does not provide placement or adoption services directly to the public. We recommend that you contact a local animal rescue or shelter organization in your area if you would like to adopt a pet or give-up your pet, and you can find a local organization by searching one of the reputable adoption listing websites: Adopt-a-Pet.com, Pets911.com, DogTime.com, or Petbond.com.
Please sign-up for our newsletter! We'd be happy to keep you informed about new services, new features and other things going on with RescueGroups.org.

Working with RescueGroups to establish a professional website had enabled our small, volunteer organization to promote our adoptable animals in a pleasing and contemporary way. The features are user friendly, even for one with very little website development experience. The reports, event scheduling, permissions maintenance, and design flexibility are extras that go above and beyond a basic webpage. The webmaster(s) are prompt with their responses to questions... read more.
