Thanks to Rescue Groups, the ability of Pet Rescue By Judy to find new homes for abandoned pets has grown in unbelievable ways! Prior to using their services, we had a read-only website, listed our pets on one online adoption site, and held adoption events at local Petsmarts. Since we had lost our password for the site, our current pets were not even on the web. Pretty much the only way pets were adopted is if the right person happened into the right location when the right pet was there. Not very effective.

When we contracted with Rescue Groups, we did it in the hope of at least keeping our listings current by having multiple volunteers able to access the site. What we didn't expect was the response from the public. Within the first 30 days we received 125 adoption applications, 50 volunteer applications, 40 foster applications, and 3 sponsorships! We were stunned! We continue to receive multiple applications every day, allowing us greater confidence in finding the right forever home for our pets. We are able to rescue more animals because not only are we receiving the adoption applications, we continue to receive more foster applications (we do not have a shelter, so this is critical). Our volunteer force has grown to such a level that we are able to divide the tasks into the small committment times that most people are able to give.

Due to the quality of the website, we have attracted the attention of both local newspapers and radio shows! Not only have we been interviewed, but one radio show has paid for two 30 second commercials for us! As the swell of enthusiasm has grown, other small businesses have become involved, launching donation drives for us! And now several members of the local community have taken it upon themselves to make our dream of a shelter a reality.

We firmly believe that the upswelling of support and the increase in adoptions has its root in the quality and professionalism of our Rescue Groups website established less than 60 days ago. We are able to change our homepage frequently to keep it current and interesting so that people will come back to visit it. Potential adopters have told us time and again that they have appreciated the information on the site and the timeliness of the listings. We know that the addition of video clips has spurred many of the sponsorships we have received.

Besides having a great product, it has been a pleasure to work with the people behind Rescue Groups. We know as much about computers as the average rescue organization (depressing, isn't it!). Using the online guidelines augmented by the occasional question/answer of the Rescue Groups staff, we had an effective site within 48 hours of start up. In fact, we also had three applications submitted in the same time frame! We continue to fine-tune the site and make improvements, finding the effort to do so not taxing and the benefit immeasurable.

We believe that the investment in time and money to establish a website through Rescue Groups is most likely the wisest and most effective decision we have ever made. We strongly encourage any rescue organization to invest in this service. You will not regret it.
