DogTime's Commitment to the Animal Welfare Community

We can say from personal experience that the staff at DogTime is completely and totally dedicated to helping animal welfare organizations end the killing of healthy animals in shelters across the US and Canada.

It would be difficult to find a for-profit organization that is working harder to help save pets.  Like many other for-profit organizations in the animal welfare sector, DogTime's money comes from corporate sponsors and advertising revenue.   However, DogTime is unique in that they consider their support of the animal welfare community its top priority -- they literally are working every day to find ways to help save pets.

DogTime has developed several tools to help gain more exposure for adoptable pets.  They've created Find Your Match and Adopt a Dog on their DogTime.com website.  Also, they've created the Save a Dog and Save a Cat Facebook applications, as well as several widgets like Top Adoptable Dogs and Top Adoptable Cats.

DogTime is unique in that the money they raise through their sponsors doesn't just stay within DogTime.  They actually donate back to the community via non-profit partners like RescueGroups.org and others.

DogTime has donated over $67,000 to RescueGroups.org through Save a Dog, Save a Cat and various grant programs.  These donations are directly helping thousands of animal welfare organizations.

DogTime provides monthly service grants and a yearly technology grant.  The grants provide a year's service for deserving non-profit animal welfare organizations.  Over 100 organizations have benefited from the DogTime grant programs.

Over $62,000 of the donations have been received via the Save a Dog and Save a Cat Facebook applications.  These donations are being allocated to grants for the RescueGroups.org Website, Data Management, Email and Domain Name services.

Providing free technology solutions to animal rescues and shelters does have a direct impact in the number of animals they can save.  Here are just two ways it helps:

  1. The cost savings can be redirected to other programs within the organization like spay/neuter, or for purchasing supplies like food.
  2. The high-tech services and additional exposure for adoptable pets will increase adoptions, volunteers and donors, thereby bringing in more donations that can be used for various programs.

RescueGroups.org is providing grants for most of our services, including the Data Management, Website, Domain Name and Email services.  More information about the grants can be found on the Service Grants page.  A full list of the grant recipients can be found on the Grant Recipients page.

This is just the tip of the iceberg.  We will be providing additional grants and new services in the very near future, directly because of the donations from DogTime.

Support from companies like DogTime allows us to provide free services to over 3,000 organizations.  These free services run their websites, manage their data and information, answer their phone calls, forward and store their email, receive and organize their adoption applications, and send their adoptable pet information across the Internet to over two dozen websites.  These critical services help the non-profit volunteers and organizations work more effectively, and save the volunteers money and time.

That's money and time that ultimately saves more pets -- thank you DogTime for your commitment to help save pets!
