Who is RescueGroups.org
RescueGroups.org is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides free and low-cost technology services to the animal welfare community. RescueGroups.org is an unaffiliated, volunteer-driven, non-competitive organization that wants to work with like-minded organizations to help animal welfare organizations, volunteers and pets.Our Mission and Values
RescueGroups.org exists to provide technology solutions to help organizations effectively work to end animal overpopulation.RescueGroups.org values:

Board of Directors and Board of Advisors
Ms. Barbara Greene, Board of Directors, Chair
Barbara Greene brings over ten years of animal welfare management experience to Rescuegroups.org.
Serving as the Executive Director of FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) in San Diego for
seven of those years Barbara has worked with all issues involving animal rescue, adoptions, and
animal program management. Prior to being the ED she was on the FOCAS Board; one of those years
as president. In addition to FOCAS Barbara served on the Board of SNAP (Spay/Neuter Action
Project) in San Diego and was involved with the humane education programs created by that
organization. Barbara lives in the San Diego area with her FOCAS cat, Allie.
Ms. Myra Hall, Board of Directors, Treasurer
Myra is a Certified Public Accountant employed as a tax manager with a local accounting firm. Myra
and her husband Michael reside in Silver Spring, MD where the Oliver-Hall household/zoo currently
includes three dogs, three cats and a bird (that barks).
Mr. Joshua Jeffries, SPHR, Board of Directors, Member-at-large
Joshua is the founder of IHR Advisors, Inc. which focuses on a holistic solution to client needs in
the areas of human resources, employee benefits and technology. He is currently an active board member
for the Montgomery County Society for Human Resource Management and the Rotary of Potomac in addition
to RescueGroups.org. Joshua is also a member of the Greater Washington Board of Trade (BOT) and The
University Club DC where he sits on the Sports Committee. Josh currently resides in the Willows of
Potomac community with his wife Golda, their wonderful rescue dog Cosmo and rescued cat Oreo.
Ms. Linda Junkins, Board of Directors, Member-at-large
Ms. Marilynn Katatsky, Board of Directors, Member-at-large
Marilynn has spent the past two decades as a Senior Vice President with a large investment
bank, where she serves as advisor to individuals, corporations and non-profits. Prior to
that, she was a senior scientist with the World Health Organization in Latin America.
Having grown up on a farm, Marilynn developed a love of animals and has had a variety of
horses, dogs and cats in her extended family. She resides in Annapolis with her rescued
Doberman, Chief, who she found through an internet search.
Mr. Steve Miller, Board of Directors, Member-at-large
Steve is a technical lead/senior software engineer living in Glenn Dale, MD. Steve holds a
BS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland at College Park and is pursuing an
MBA from University of Maryland University College. Steve is married and has 2 dogs
(Merle and Shadow).
Ms. Linda Saffell, Board of Directors, Member-at-large
Linda has spent her life in Maryland, attending
college on the Eastern Shore and developing her love for animals,
especially cats. She is a skilled networker as well as a
lover of administrative controls. Linda has a lot of experience with
animal behavior counselling as a volunteer for several animal welfare
organizations. She also brings a holistic view to animal issues,
having worked with statistical data collection and project planning.
She has an "encyclopedic" memory for the properties of many
herbs and supplements. Linda has training and experience as a
negotiator which she uses frequently in working with communities
interested in using TNR to care for free-roaming cats. Linda has
participated "hands-on" in several TNR projects. She is married with
grown children and several grandchildren.
Mr. Richard Saffell, Executive Director, Board of Directors, Member-at-large
Richard is an IT manager living in Bowie, Maryland. Richard holds
a number of advanced technology certifications. He is married and owned by
two dogs (Amber and Rex).
